Pastor Steve Diehl came to Garden Hills in June of 1997, after serving churches in Texas, Oklahoma, and Illinois. Steve acknowledges that God called him to preach shortly after his conversion, but that he took the scenic route to pastoral ministry, while God was very patient with him. A graduate of the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Steve earned his master's degree from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Preaching and teaching are his passions in ministry, but he also enjoys providing pastoral care and personal encouragement for members of the congregation. Steve and his wife have three children, one of whom is still at home. In his down time, Steve enjoys golf, fishing, and model railroading.

Pastor Steve Hronec began his ministry at GHBC on September 15, 2004, one day after moving to Champaign from Wilmington, North Carolina with his wife, Stacy, and their children, Sarah, Kaley, and Craig. He previously served churches in Florida and North Carolina. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Degree from the University of Central Florida, and is currently working toward his Master of Arts in Religion and Master of Divinity Degrees through the Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Steve enjoys playing golf, watching Atlanta Braves baseball and SportsCenter with Stacy, and cheering on the University of Central Florida Golden Knights. His passion in ministry is to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music and preaching, so that the whole world will come to faith in Christ.

Teresa Masters, Church Secretary

Teresa began working as the Church Secretary for Garden Hills in August, 1999. She assists the pastor in the every day operations of the church office. Some of her duties are to compose the bulletins, newsletters and prayer sheets, bookkeeping duties, etc . Teresa lives outside of Mahomet with her husband, Paul (an AITS project manager at the U of I), and her son (a student at Parkland College, working toward his Criminal Justice degree). Her daughter, Jennifer, and son-in-law, Dave, live in Queen Creek, AZ, and are both Jr. high teachers there. Teresa enjoys teaching Children's Church, being a part of small group ministries, and greeting. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, walking, gardening, reading and taking care of her family.
